You’ll come across wineries and cellars…

… so why not pay a visit to the Gaillacois. Ideal for a touring holiday, France’s Gaillac region is one of the oldest wine-growing areas in the country. Come and get to know its three terroirs (soils), its grape varieties: Mauzac, Loin de l’œil, Duras and Braucol) and its characterful wines (red, white, rosé or fraîcheur perlée).

The Bastides & Vineyards of Gaillac ...

...the wine-growers will help you to discover the intensely perfumed bouquet of their wines and surprise you with the red fruit notes.

The Tarn Bastides, the churches, abbeys, fortified villages or modest little chapels will take you back in time, inviting you to stroll in their medieval back streets, to enjoy the cool shade of their cloistered squares and stroke their powdery pink brickwork.

It is a landscape in which rugged majesty is softened by the presence of streams and lakes, a landscape just asking to be visited, whether it’s just for a gentle walk, or, for the more active, a more serious outing on foot or on horseback. If you fancy a cycling holiday, France offers few more interesting areas to tour by mountain-bike.

Along the way, after a refreshing stop in one of our Country Bistros, don’t forget to visit some of the numerous potters and leather workers in the area.

But we also want you to enjoy some of our festivals during your holiday in this corner of south west France: there are wine and wine harvest festivals, local festivals, concerts great and small, fairs and markets, rugby matches featuring the Union Athlétique Gaillacoise (Gaillac Sports Club) and lots of local clubs too, and all this in a warm and friendly atmosphere…You’ll want to come back soon!
