Pôvre vieille démocrasseuse ! – Festival Marée Haute #4

“Pôvre vieille démocrasseuse!” was created in 2021 by Théâtre de la Passerelle in Limoges.

This poetic and political exaltation is the second part of a triptych based on texts by Quebec author Marc Favreau (Sol), performed by the remarkable theatre clown Marie Thomas.
Preceded by “Comment va le monde?” (2015) and followed by “Le retour aux souches” (2023), the trilogy plays with words, neologisms and verbal twists to deliver an existential, political and philosophical reflection that feels more relevant than ever.
Beyond the power of Favreau’s texts, the strength of the performance lies in the subtle and sensitive direction by Michel Bruzat, allowing the language and the performer to fully resonate.
A timeless show, sharp, playful and deeply moving, where words burst like rockets—without causing harm.
