Check out the view from above the Arnette! The footbridge, which has been open to the public since December 2018, swings 70 m above the void. This 140 m long aerial walkway links the hills of Mazamet to the small medieval village of Hautpoul.

Two routes of varying length will take you to Mazamet and are available from the Jamarié car park at the edge of the town. You can also cross the footbridge in the other direction from Hautpoul.

140 m above the void: thrills and (panoramic) chills

From the road below, the footbridge seems to swing remarkably high in the sky between two rocky ridges. As you step onto it, you look away and your heart starts to beat as you look down. The metal floor allows you to see beneath you. Beware if you’re afraid of heights! However, the view of Mazamet on one side, Hautpoul on the other and the Montagne Noire are well worth it. It’s a fantastic experience for everyone. Whether or not you’ve got the kids with you, continue the day by visiting the Maison du Bois et du Jouet below, taking you back to your childhood.

The footbridge is accessible on foot, free of charge, all year round.
