Les Cammazes Dam

It is built on the site of La Gravette. Its name came from the mill which were on the shore of the Sor and have been submerged by the water.

Built between 1953 and 1958, the Gravette Dam creates a reservoir of 20 million meters cube of drinking water and supplies more than 186 cities. Because of its great height (70 m), the dam belongs to the A Class or the class of "large dams" : there are only 89 dams from this class in France.
