Musée – Le Réservoir : Espace découverte du Canal du Midi

Standing at the foot of the dam of St. Ferreol lake, this museum is exclusively dedicated to this UNESCO World Heritage monument. You will discover the masterpiece of engineering by Pierre-Paul Riquet, the genius who tought up the Canal du Midi.

The Canal du Midi Museum & Gardens offers a journey at the sources of the Canal du Midi : physical sources, as it is located close to the artificial lake which feeds this formidable work of art ; historical sources, as it invites you to discover the genesis of the project and to meet its inspired inventor, Pierre-Paul Riquet. Located at the foot of the dam of St. Ferreol (17th century), the museum has been fitted in the former "Engineer House". Set in the shades of the opulent landscaped park land out in the 19th century, this museological space unfolds the fabulous story of the Canal du Midi.
