The “Rigole de la Montagne” and the Alzeau Stream

Located at the heart of the Black Mountain, the Alzeau Stream is the starting point of the water supply system for the Canal du Midi.

The Rigole de la Montagne and the Alzeau Stream are the solution to face the problem of providing enough water to the Canal du Midi. They collect Black Moutain waters.

This structure, based on a concept imagined by Pierre-Paul Riquet takes its source in the Ramondens Forest on the city of Arfons. The Alzeau Stream, at an altitude of 680 m, is the starting point of the Rigole de la Montagne which snakes then through green and wild landscapes.
