Cycling Trip: A 4-Day Tour of the Tarn

Starting from Lavaur, Thomas takes you on a beautiful hike that follows the geographical border of his department, the Tarn.
He offers a 4-day trek to cover 500 km and 8,000 m of elevation gain.

This trip was born out of a crazy challenge Thomas set for himself with a friend: to travel all the way around the Tarn department, following the geographical border as closely as possible—nonstop! He completed the challenge in just over 26 hours… Don’t worry, this time we’ll take our time to enjoy this nearly 500-km route!
Thomas is offering a 4-day cycling tour starting in Lavaur and heading toward Mazamet. The next day, we’ll start the day by climbing the Pic de Nore (which rises to 1,211 meters) to cross the Montagne Noire and stop in Lacaune (the easternmost point on the border with Aveyron).
We’ll then head north toward Laguepie (where the Aveyron and Viaur rivers meet) on the border of Tarn-et-Garonne.
And finally, on the fourth day, we’ll return to Lavaur on a varied route through the Causse plateau and the valley.

Itinerary:

> DAY 1
10:00 a.m.: Meet in Lavaur
12:00 PM: Departure after a light snack
Lavaur > Mazamet: 115 km / 1,700 m elevation gain
8:00 PM: Dinner at the hotel

> DAY 2
Mazamet > Lacaune
140 km / 3,200 m elevation gain... this one’s going to be a challenge

Lacaune > Laguepie
125 km / 1,600 m elevation gain

> DAY 4
Laguepie > Lavaur
110 km / 1,500 m elevation gain
