Artisan – “Rouge Indigo” Workshop

Jean-Jacques Durand, an artisan, combines two areas of expertise: restoring furniture and kitchens through refurbishment, and creating decorative turned wood objects from locally sourced wood.

Jean-Jacques Durand, on the one hand, renovates furniture and kitchens, giving them a second life in contemporary interiors through refurbishment techniques. After stripping the wood down to its bare surface, he masters the art of finishing to create modern, custom designs tailored to his clients’ tastes.

He also expresses his creativity by crafting turned wood objects made from local wood. These one-of-a-kind pieces, often created using special techniques such as sandblasting or ebonizing, are available at the workshop or at specialty trade shows.
