Painter and visual artist. Alexe Sawatzki, a native of Munich, moved to France thirty years ago. The artist lives and works in Appelle (81). She exhibits her work in France and abroad. Studio tours are available by appointment.
Alexe Sawatzki, a visual artist, enjoys playing with concepts such as windows, flight, an opening onto life, hope, freedom, and offers us a form of art that aims to be a new abstract romanticism, exploring another reality—invisible and mysterious—and the connection between the real world and the sensory world of dreams. A meditation of the soul. Art in constant motion, moving forward and upward, always toward the light.
Her mobile sculptures float in space—she often installs them in churches—evoking our most intimate dreams and what lies deep within us: our soul.
