Lévéjac Pottery

Michel Goldstyn, artisan. Creator of stoneware garden pots and hand-thrown, glazed porcelain tableware.

A native of the Paris region, Michel Goldstyn studied ceramics at CREAR—a natural choice for him, as he “works with ceramics because even as a very young child, he used to play with matches.” ”
Apart from garden pots, which are made of stoneware or fireclay, his entire body of work is in porcelain. He prepares his own clay and porcelain, which he fires at 1320°.

His main body of work consists of hand-thrown and glazed porcelain tableware. He is also renowned for his ability to throw large pieces, which is quite rare in porcelain.

In addition to tableware, he creates hand-thrown and glazed bathroom sinks, as well as his own glazes (copper red, copper blue, Temmoku, iron blue, etc.).
In short, he composes, as he puts it, “the lyrics and the music”: since 2009, he has been creating a line of decorative items (vases, platters, jars, etc.) featuring a technically innovative geometric design in both matte and glossy finishes.
In 2010, he added to his production a line of very large rope-marked stoneware jars, which have been a resounding success—especially since these pieces are incredibly difficult to perfect at these firing temperatures.

Michel is thus a potter who, over time, has acquired a high level of technical skill that allows him to give free rein to his artistic sensibility.
