South Tarn Gites – Le Martinet

Gite Martinet sleeps two and is large and spacious. It is open plan with large kitchen / living area with fridge freezer and dishwasher, mezzanine level bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. There is an additional sitting room for you to read and relax in. For winter lets the woodburning stove will keep you warm and cosy. Both gites have their own terrace and bbq areas.

In the Pays de Cocagne, a few minutes from Lautrec, one of the "most beautiful villages in France", famous for its old mill, and its pink garlic AOC culture. Here it is the land of good life, gastronomy, countryside with soothing colours, lively markets (Castres on Saturdays and especially the unmissable Réalmont market on Wednesday mornings). The bravest will be able to get there on foot or by bike by taking the green way.

Ideally located in the centre of the Tarn, you will discover Castres (Berges de l'Agout, Goya Museum) and Albi, whose historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will find the Toulouse-Lautrec museum housed in the Berbie Palace, and the largest red brick cathedral in Europe, the Ste-Cécile Cathedral, which dates from the 13th century. To see absolutely!

The vineyard of Gaillac deserves your attention, to meet the winemakers in summer during the many aperitifs concerts. The Sidobre massif and its magical rocks, with surprising shapes, will sharpen your imagination, large or small you will be charmed by the legends of the forest.

History buffs will find their happiness by browsing the cobbled streets of the medieval city of Cordes-sur-Ciel, or reliving the Cathare epic (Mazamet’s Catharism Museum, Hautpoul accessible by an impressive Nepalese gateway) to the City of Carcassonne, across the Black Mountain.
