Located in the heart of the former Carmaux-Albi mining basin, in Cagnac-les-Mines, the Musée-Mine has reopened its doors to the public after 2 years of work.
With its exhibition halls and 300 metres of mine galleries, it recounts the mining epic of a territory attached to its workers' memory and pays tribute to all the men and women who, over the centuries, have shaped this land. It is also a valuable tool for passing on the history of coal mining in the basin to current generations.
Come and discover this redesigned museum, anchored in its time with the use of new technologies for sound and lighting, a more modern scenography to welcome the visitor and immerse him in the daily life of the "black mouths". The museum does not deny its roots with its specificities and its special atmosphere.
